Their Brains are Growing Fast
January is often a time when preschoolers grow and change quickly. Parents might see more distractibility or emotional outbursts, but these behaviors usually mean their brains are developing.
In early childhood, the brain is always making new connections. When the brain grows quickly, it can temporarily affect:
- Attention
- Emotional regulation
- Sleep
- Behavior
This is normal and it will pass.
Signs of Brain Growth
- Asking more questions
- Increased curiosity
- Emotional sensitivity
- Difficulty focusing
These are signs your child is learning, not going backward.
How to Support Healthy Brain Development
- Provide consistent routines
- Allow for movement and play
- Offer reassurance during emotional moments
- Avoid labeling behaviors negatively
Faith Reminder
God is actively at work in every stage of a child’s development.
“For You formed my inward parts.” Psalm 139:13
Growth is not always quiet, and that’s okay.
